School Assignment
To enroll your student in Wake County Public Schools, you will need:
• Proof of residence - housing contract, rental agreement, or utility bills
• Certified copy of the child’s birth certificate
• Current immunization record
• Child’s Social Security card
• A copy of the latest report card and achievement test scores (helpful, but not required)
Apex Business / Education Leadership Councils
Apex, North Carolina is fortunate to have several active groups supporting our area schools. More than two dozen businesses serve on the Business/Education Leadership Councils at Apex High School and Apex Middle School. These business leaders meet regularly with school administrators to provide support for the school’s goals and objectives such as mentoring, career days, teacher training and internships.

Reuben McNeil Golden Apple Award
Each month at the school staff meeting, the Apex Chamber of Commerce rewards a deserving Apex teacher with a Golden Apple Award. Each school votes and selects a teacher to represent them as their outstanding teacher. Every month, the Apex Chamber selects a school and presents the award to the teacher voted on by their peers. In addition, the Chamber also presents an award to a teacher assistant from each school, also voted on by their peers. In August a luncheon is held for all the teachers who have received awards. This is but one of the many ways the Apex Chamber supports education in its community.
